School Supplies & Parent / Student Handbook

Parkside School Supplies for 2026-2027 will be posted in the summer.

As part of AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) we will be placing an added emphasis on student organization. Students learn to organize their thoughts, time and materials by using organizational tools, setting goals and practicing time management skills.

Kindergarten students will be using a durable blue plastic "Take Home Folder". 

Students in Grades 1-5 and Quest will be using an AVID binder, consisting of a durable blue 3-ring binder, 4 colored plastic folders, page protectors, a zipper supply pouch and a grade level planner, along with a separate Take Home file envelope. The school has purchased these AVID materials ahead of time so that all students have the same organizational materials as they are taught these skills. Parents will be purchasing these items from the school at open house.

• Parents will receive a slip at open house in the classroom outlining the AVID materials needed for your child.
• Grade 1 & 2 students and any new students in Gr. 3-5 will receive the complete AVID binder & materials. 
• Returning students in Grades 3-5 and Quest will have their AVID binders from the 25-26 school year and can purchase any replacement materials needed.

The supply list with the AVID materials for their child's grade level and the school supplies that parents should purchase will be included in the August back-to-school mailing.

Elementary Student Handbook:

The handbook for Parkside Elementary parents is updated and published online at the beginning of each school year.
