United for Youth Grant Application 2026
United for Youth (UFY) grant applications are now open!
United for Youth (UFY) is a community initiative established in Buffalo-Hanover-Montrose to help children and families grow to be healthy, caring and responsible. United for Youth was formed in 1997 to help develop assets in the youth in our community. It is funded by a grant from the Wright County Family Services Collaborative. Projects must provide or enhance an early intervention or prevention service and address the Search Institute's 40 Developmental Assets. Grant applications will be accepted through May 8, 2026 and eligible applicants will be notified and asked to present to the UFY Board on May 19, 2026 . Project eligibility: Must provide or enhance an early intervention or prevention service and fit into at least one of the following categories established by the Wright County Family Services Collaborative (listed below) and address the Search Institutes 40 Developmental Assets.
- Community Connection
- Mentoring and Early Childhood
- Parent Education and Family Support
- Constructive Use of Time
- Health Issues
- Transportation
Grant Criteria:
- Involve direct service to children and families
- Be aimed at reducing the need for out-of-home placement
- Involve collaboration or cooperation between two or more entities
- Be a new or enhanced program and cannot supplant or replace existing programs/services
- Have in-kind contributions including administrative costs
- Avoid duplication of services
- Have measurable outcomes
- Final report must be submitted
- Must not exceed $5,000
- Project must be self-sustaining at the end of the grant
