Packard nominated for Star of the North Award

Congratulations to Oliver Packard, this year's nominee for the 2027 Star of the North Award presented by the Minnesota Educators of the Gifted and Talented.

Packard, a sixth-grader in the Quest program at Buffalo Community Middle School, is now in the running to receive the award, which is given annually to a Minnesota student in grades 5-8 who has shown outstanding student accomplishment in academics, visual or performing arts or leadership.

Nominated students must submit a composition describing an activity or interest area, how the student became interested and involved in the activity, what impact the activity has had on the student and on others, and how the student’s future plans and goals have been affected by this activity or interest area. 

Teachers in the Quest program nominate students who continually have a positive impact on others. The winner of the award will be announced at the Minnesota Educators of the Gifted and Talented conference in February.
