BHS to host Choral Showcase

Buffalo High School invites community members to attend a Choral Showcase at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12, in the Buffalo High School Performing Arts Center (PAC) following the cancellation of the Minnesota Music Educators Association (MMEA) Convention. The MMEA performance, originally scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 12, at the Minneapolis Convention Center, was canceled, but student musicians will still have the opportunity to share their work thanks to local collaboration and support.

Buffalo High School has stepped in to host performances for all accepted MMEA choirs on Feb. 12 and 13, creating an alternative venue that honors the commitment and growth of these ensembles. In addition to the BHS Concert Choir, Buffalo High School is proud to welcome choirs from White Bear Lake, St. Peter, Richfield Middle School, Sauk Rapids–Rice, Bemidji, Austin, and Richfield High School.

The BHS Concert Choir will perform at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb 12. Each performance during the Choral Showcase will be 30 to 45 minutes in length, allowing each ensemble dedicated time to present its program. Admission is free, and audience members should enter through Door 6. Carpooling is encouraged.

The showcase will feature a diverse program of choral music that reflects the artistry, collaboration, and dedication of students from across Minnesota. Because this daytime performance may not be accessible to all families, the BHS Concert Choir will also perform the same MMEA set during the Feb. 23 Choir Concert at 7 p.m.

Community members are encouraged to attend and support these students as they share the music they have worked so hard to prepare, celebrating resilience and the strength of the choral community.
