Special Services

Welcome to the Buffalo-Hanover-Montrose Special Services Department!

Vision

Creating educational opportunities that improve student outcomes in an environment where learning has no limits.

Mission

The Department of Special Services Mission is to work collaboratively to provide appropriate support and services to students from birth to age 22. These services will prepare students to participate in their communities in meaningful ways and achieve their personal post-secondary goals. We do this through providing specialized instruction, integrating research with practice and providing opportunities where all are included and valued.

Record Retention

Special Education files of students who graduated from Buffalo-Hanover-Montrose School District in June of 2017 will soon be destroyed. Parents/guardians or former students may claim these files if desired, prior to June 30th, 2024. To claim a file, please bring proper identification to the special services office located at 214 1st Avenue NE in Buffalo. Please call the special services office at 763.682.8715 to arrange a pick up time.
