Your child will need the registration form, the 2014-15 health emergency form, a copy of their birth certificate, immunization records and preschool screening in order begin kindergarten in the fall.  If your family is new to the area and you are unsure which school your kindergartener should attend next year, please check your home address here

Are you moving this summer?  Please notify the Parkside office at 763.682.8500 as soon as possible if you are planning on moving out of the BHM school district or are transferring schools over the summer months.  This helps us as we plan staffing needs for fall.

Again, No School to Make-Up

No Make-Up for the April 4 No School Day

At this point, students will still NOT have to make up any days/time missed so far from school. We realize there could be more weather related delays or cancellations to school that could affect future decisions. The school board and district administration will continue to monitor the number of student days and will make decisions as the situation presents itself. If more school is cancelled and a decision is made to make up the time, parents will be notified as soon as possible. This has been an unseasonably harsh winter, and we appreciate the parent support even though the decisions that have been made have impacted family schedules.

Positions Open for Reading Corps Tutors

The Buffalo-Hanover-Montrose School District (BHM) is pleased to announce that Northwinds Elementary, Parkside Elementary, Discovery Elementary and Tatanka Elementary have been invited to participate in the Minnesota Reading Corps (MRC) program for the 2014-2015 school year. MRC is a statewide initiative to help every Minnesota child become a successful reader by the end of 3rd grade. MRC tutors work one-on-one with K-3rd grade students who are just below proficiency in reading. Tatanka has a half-time tutor position open this fall, and Northwinds and Parkside will each have one full-time tutor position available.  Beginning in August, recruited members will receive training and serve for 11 months. In exchange for their service, members will receive a modest living allowance and may be eligible for an education award to use towards college tuition or to pay back federal student loans. Find out how to apply to be a tutor.
