Welcome to Hanover Elementary

At HANOVER ELEMENTARY, students pledge to respect one another, to be responsible in doing their very best, and to recognize the rights of others. This pledge forms the foundation of a high-achieving, safe and positive environment, where students consistently score well above state and national averages on standardized tests. Personalized learning practices at Hanover ensure all students are challenged, and highly engaged families work closely with teachers and staff to help students reach their full potential. Hanover serves 440 students in grades K-5.

The classrooms at HES are collecting Box Tops for Education. The contest runs through February 16th. The 3 classrooms that collect the most will receive a reward!

Food Service Meal Account Changes

On December 27, 2017, BHM Schools Food Service Department will switch from PayPams to Campus Online Payments through the Parent Portal (https://campus.bhmschools.org/campus/portal/buffalo.jsp). Other changes to meal accounts will also go into effect. Read the article for more information.

Quest - Requests to assess for 2018-19 school year are due January 25, 2018


The Quest program services highly gifted students (top two to three percent in class) in grades 2-9 and is a tuition-free school within a school located at Parkside Elementary (grades 2-5), Buffalo Community Middle School (grades 6-8), and at Buffalo High School (grade 9). If you think your child might qualify for the program, you are encouraged to request assessment.

Winter Recess

Winter is in the air! Students should come to school dressed for outdoor recess. Once snow falls, this includes a jacket, snow pants, boots, mittens or gloves and a hat or hood.

Students go outdoors for recess unless the temperature and/or wind chill are below 0 degrees.
