BHS Theatre Department Receives Spotlight Awards

It is a FABULOUS day for the BHS Theater, Music and Dance departments!  We received the Outstanding Overall Performance Award for The Phantom of the Opera musical that was performed at BHS in November, 2013.  This award means our BHS cast will be performing a three to four minute medley from Phantom at the SpotLight Showcase on the Orpheum stage!  The SpotLight committee has stated the BHS performance was in the top 15% statewide.  The Phantom also received Honorable Mention Overall Production.  BHS Theater director, Tracy Hagstrom Durant says, "I believe we received the BEST award...the one that honors the work of our student performers and technicians."

Several individual students received honors and also honorable mention.  Look at the attached Awards Announcement for the complete list.  Notice the high number of our students who received individual honors.  We have kids from all four grades represented on this list!  All of the individuals honored (including students receiving honorable mention) will be invited to perform at the SpotLight Showcase.  They will be performing in a group of other students statewide who received similar honors.  This performance will take place June 8 and/or 9, 2014 at 7 p.m.  Additional information will be posted as it becomes available.
