High School Drivers Education

BHM Community Education offers driver education classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel instruction year round.

After-school sessions for the classroom instruction are held at Buffalo High School 4 times while school is in session:  fall (Sept./Oct.), winter (Nov./Dec.), winter (Jan./Feb) and spring (Mar./Apr.).

Summer sessions are available during the morning hours are held at BHS (June and July), Hanover Elementary School (June) and Montrose Elementary School (July).

Evening sessions are available at Buffalo High School in the fall, spring and summer.

The total cost of the program is for the MN state law requirements for 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction.

Driver education is not funded by the state department therefore all costs must be incurred by the register (no scholarships are available for free or reduce lunch students) upon registering for their specific session.

Registration forms are continuously updated with specific dates/times and those are available in Kevin Schmeling's office, Driver Education Coordinator, at Buffalo High School (room C-103).  Feel free to contact Mr. Schmeling at 763-682-8078 or e-mail kschmeli@buffalo.k12.mn.us
