Adult Recreation & Fitness

Community Education offers a variety of fitness and sport activities for adults of all ages.  Group fitness classes are a great way to learn about the importance of regular exercise in a group setting. Instructors teach how to perform the exercises in a safe way. In addition, instructors suggest modifications for each exercise to accommodate individual fitness level.

Classes each quarter include cardiovascular, muscular conditioning and mind/body exercises.  Sample a variety of classes to find the best fit for you by purchasing a Fitness Punch Pass or make a longer-term commitment by registering for individual classes. Offerings can include Group Fitness Potpourri, Yoga, T’ai Chi, Adult Doubles Tennis, Spinning and more.  Class offerings change throughout the year.

Indoor Walking

Walk indoors at the Bison Activity Center track or walk the halls at Discovery Center and Buffalo Community Middle School in Buffalo, Hanover Elementary or Montrose Elementary. See details below.

Bison Activity Center

  • Monday-Thursday, 6-9 pm
  • Saturdays, 8 -11 am (beginning October 20)
  • (Closed November 6, 21, 22)
  • $2/person/day or purchase a season walking pass (available on-site)

Free Hall Walking

  • Monday-Thursday, 4-8 pm, beginning October 22 at Discovery Center and Buffalo Community Middle School in Buffalo, and Hanover and Montrose Elementary
  • No walking on November 6 and on non-school days

 

Open Gym Opportunities


Open Gym/Open Swim

All ages are welcome to come out to play!  This is a drop-in basis.  Basketballs are provided.



Buffalo Community Middle School: (Gym & Pool)

  • Sundays, September 9 - December 16, 2-4 pm
  • (Pool closed Nov. 25, Dec. 23, 30)
  • $3/person or $10/family per day

Bison Activity Center (Gym):

  • Monday-Thursday, 6-9 pm
  • (Closed November 6, 21, 22)
  • $3/person or $6/family per night
