Parkside Elementary School is dedicated to providing each child an educational experience that is of the highest quality and one that reflects twenty-first century standards.  With a commitment to best practices and up to date technology, we strive in promoting academic excellence.  We believe that a strong academic foundation will create a love for learning.

Parkside Elementary is proud to create a warm and welcoming environment for our students,  staff, parents, and visitors. We currently have 430 students in grades Kindergarten through Grade 5, and our average class has 25 students per teacher.  In addition to the core curriculum which is taught by classroom teachers, students in grades 1-5 meet regularly for vocal music, physical education, technology and media instruction.

At Parkside we strive to provide a safe and nurturing environment for all of our students.  Our building initiative is Parkside CARES.  CARES represents the following characteristics: 
C = Cooperation; A = Assertion, R = Responsibility, E = Empathy and S = Self-control, and the 17 guidelines helps our students understand how their behavior can reflect these characteristics during the school day. These characteristics are the foundation of the Responsive Classroom, an approach to elementary teaching that emphasizes social, emotional and academic growth in a strong and safe school community. We recognize the importance of the connection between home and school and we embrace the philosophy of a shared responsibility.  Look for opportunities at home to reinforce and complement these characteristics that will help your children be better learners and better citizens.  We look forward to working together in our quest to provide the students of Parkside with a quality educational experience.
