Physical Education Teacher

Natalie J. Johnson

My name is Ms. Johnson and I love teaching physical education.  I am thrilled at the opportunity to share my passion for staying physically active, leading healthy lifestyles, and lifelong learning with a new generation of scholars.  One of the great joys of my life is watching young students grow into fitness enthusiasts and improve their physical skills.  I am looking forward to a fantastic year with your student.

I am a true Minnesota Golden Gopher and attended the University of Minnesota for my undergraduate and graduate degrees.  I have a B.S. in Kinesiology, a M.Ed. in Applied Kinesiology, Physical Education, and a D.A.P.E. license.  Before coming to Northwinds, I taught for 3 years at Wayzata Public Schools.

Like many of my students, I have a favorite sport.  I train and compete in Olympic weightlifting.  I have enjoyed many adventures through this sport.  I have attended training camps at in Beijing, China and at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.  I represented Team USA at the University World Weightlifting Championships in 2012 in Eilat, Israel and have competed in several national championships.  I am planning on competing for several more years and I am excited to see where the road will lead me.  I love showing others that weightlifting is not just a sport for men and that women can be strong and feminine.
