Health & Physical Education

Young people are our most valuable resources and their health, education and well-being is a very important responsibility of schools.

Regular physical activity:

  • Improves strength and endurance
  • Helps build healthy bones and muscles
  • Helps control weight
  • Reduces anxiety and stress
  • May improve blood pressure and cholesterol levels

The BHS Physical Education department takes pride in the facilities, curriculum and technology used in classes. Students are exposed to a wide variety of opportunities to increase their fitness levels. All students are encouraged to exercise regularly and develop habits that emphasize enjoyable physical activities that can be continued throughout life.

Health is the combination of physical, mental/emotional and social well-being. Because of this, a person's health is subject to constant change. The health curriculum is designed to provide accurate health information to help students make healthy choices.
