Buffalo High School Hires Assistant Principal
Buffalo High School (BHS) has filled the assistant principal vacancy by hiring Brandon Prell who is currently serving as the Farmington High School Assistant Principal. Prell replaces Rick Toso who is serving as the BHS Interim Principal since the recent retirement of Nick Miller.Prell believes BHS is an ideal fit for him. "I have five years of Assistant Principal experience within a growing, suburban high school. I have worked in a culture where literacy and high student expectations have been a priority. I am excited to be a part of BHS which is considered a highly respected and prominent school in the state. I look forward to starting."
With degrees from the University of Minnesota Duluth, the University of South Dakota and Hamline University, Prell began his education career as a high school science teacher. He obtained his undergraduate degree is in psychology and chemistry, with a master in secondary education, grades 7-12 physical sciences, before earning his K-12 principal license. He later became a dean of students before he landed his current assistant principal position.
Prell became an educator because of his desire to help students learn and grow. He realizes his efforts are done in the best interest of students and knows his leadership as an assistant principal is fundamental to better teaching and learning. "It gives me great personal and professional satisfaction knowing that I have been an integral part in guiding the education community to ensure every student's success."
Toso says that Prell will be a great addition to the BHS team. "We are very excited to hire someone with his expertise. He's had seven years of administration experience in two different school districts, and I believe he will be able to step right in here at BHS and take off."
Prell has started the transition process between districts and is expected to begin at BHS in early August, 2007.
