Dave Wilson Steps Down from the School Board
As Dave Wilson's time on the BHM School Board came to an end at the February 25 school board meeting, he noted that he enjoyed his seven years serving on the board, but that he is scaling back his responsibilities to spend more time with his family and in his profession as a financial advisor. Wilson noted that he is leaving while the board is in a good position and while they have very strong leadership.
"This decision has not been an easy one to make," said Wilson. "I only hope, during the time I served on the board, that I have made a positive difference in making the district a better place for students to learn. I will certainly miss serving the district, and while I am stepping down from the board, I am not ending my support of our schools."
At the meeting, BHM Superintendent Scott Thielman and the other board members thanked Wilson for his service to the school district and its communities and shared that he will be greatly missed.
Thielman explained that there are a variety of processes to use to fill the vacant seat. He stated that they will use an application process. The board will review the applications and conduct interviews. The appointment will be made at a special meeting at the board workshop on April 8, 2013.
If you are interested in serving on the Board of Education for the remainder of Wilson's term (April 8 through December 31, 2013), please send a letter of interest to the BHM Board of Education at:
