Andrew Scherber Scores a Perfect 36

Buffalo High School Andrew Scherber, son of Jason and Deb Scherber, scored a PERFECT 36 on a recent ACT test. On average, less than one-tenth of one percent of students who take the ACT earns a perfect score. Among test takers in the high school graduating class of 2014, only 1,407 of nearly 1.85 million students earned a composite score of 36! The ACT consists of English, math, reading and science.

Immunizations Are Important For The Health Of Teens

Prior to a student's start to 7th grade there are Minnesota School Immunization Requirements.  The Immunization Requirements include: a Tdap booster, Meningococcal, and a 2nd Varicella (chicken pox) vaccine, if there is no record of having the disease.

28th Annual Students of Excellence Program

Congratulations BHS Award Recipients

On Wednesday, April 29, 2015 BHS senior students Jennifer Allen, Ryan Bowers, Sarah Kolling and Jon Thielen were honored in the 28th Annual Students of Excellence Banquet and Recognition Ceremony sponsored by Resource Training and Solutions.  The purpose of this event was to recognize the accomplishments of the Region's top senior students.

One Backpack at a Time

Students from the wRight Choice program partner with members in the community to serve area families.  Backpack Buddies has become an important addition to the wRight Choice program; when students are complete with their homework, they will help stock shelves and fill backpacks with food.     Read on for additional information.

Construction on the new secure entry at Hanover Elementary begain on May 4th.

Let the Construction Begin!

The sun was shining as construction began at Hanover Elementary on Monday, May 4th.  The project was approved as part of the bond referendum held last fall.  A new secure entry will be built alongside of the current entry area and will include a visitor check-in area, the principal's office and secretary space along with a new health office.  The current main office area will be remodeled into a kindergarten classroom.

Amy Green Appointed Special Education Director effective July 1, 2015

The BHM Board of Education approved the appointment of Amy Green as Special Education Director at their April 27th meeting.  Amy is currently the Assistant Director for the Sherburne Northern Wright Special Education Cooperative.  Amy will begin in the district on July 1, 2015.

All School Picnic

Please join us at the All School Picnic on Thursday, May 28 from 5-7 p.m. The school will provide hotdogs, buns, condiments, juice and sno-cones. Families are asked to bring:
- If your last name begins in A-H, please bring dessert.
- If your last name begins in I-S, please bring salad.
- If your last name begins in T-Z, please bring chips.

Please put your name on your dish, if not disposable dishes. Bring plates and silverware for your family. Bring chairs or blanket to use on playground while eating.

In case of rain the event will still be held indoors!

BCMS 2015 Quilt Raffle

Winner of the Quilt Raffle

Mrs. Atkins, 8th Grade Science teacher, has taken a piece of fabric from EVERY 8th graders PJ pants/bag project they made in FACS and had them write their name on their piece.   She has then cut them and has assembled them into a quilt.  Mrs. Breyer,8th Grade FACS teacher, has learned to use the embroidery machine to incorporate our school words onto other pieces that are being used as row fillers.

The Buffalo Community Middle School Spring Break begins Friday, March 27 (Teacher Workshop) and goes thru Friday, April 3, 2015.  School will resume on Monday, April 6, 2015. The Buffalo Community Middle School office will be closed during the Spring Break and will re-open  at 7 A.M. on Monday, April 6, 2015.  Have a Happy Spring Break!
