Third Party Billing (DOC - 95 KB)

In an effort to maintain the highest possible quality of special education services for all students identified with disabilities we seek all possible sources of funding available to the district. School districts are required by Minnesota law to ask guardians about their child’s health insurance. Sometimes, the assessments and services required by a special education student’s IEP are health-related services that may be eligible for payment form the Medical Assistance (MA), MinnesotaCare (MC), or private insurance plan. This process, known as “third party billing” can generate extra money to help school districts pay for the services provided for their children with special needs. Answers to frequent questions about third party billing are available by clicking on the link below. If you have questions that are not answered here, contact Alexa Hinz at ahinz@bhmschools.org
